The Love Show 2012

The Love Show

We are excited about the third annual LOVE SHOW! Artists are invited to submit a piece of original artwork for exhibition at Small World Coffee's Witherspoon Street cafe during the month of February 2012. The show will center around the word 'love', and artists are encouraged to respond to that word - in broad or specific terms - and to create a piece of art that they feel somehow expresses the word or any of its myriad of connotations.

In an effort to spread the love, Small World Coffee will be supporting the Northeast Organic Farmer's Association of New Jersey (NOFA-NJ), a local non-profit. This will be done through donations at the opening party (a $20 donation is suggested). In addition, Small World Coffee will print up special LOVE SHOW t-shirts and donate the proceeds from these sales. If an artist is interested in donating the proceeds of their work to the NOFA, they are invited to do so.

Northeast Organic Farmer’s Association of New Jersey“The Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Jersey (NOFA-NJ) is a membership-based educational non-profit organization and 2011 marks the 26th year of operation. We envision a strong, resilient regional food system that provides health to the land and people. We are a unique collaboration among the stakeholders in our food system. Our members and our governing board include farmers, gardeners, consumers, retailers, processors, educators, policy-makers, and researchers. We serve as a catalyst in the development of a sustainable organic agricultural system; provide technical assistance to both organic and progressive conventional farmers to help build and maintain sustainable operations; educate diverse audiences about the significance and meaning of organic practices for food and the environment; and provide information and resources about current agricultural policy initiatives.”

We look forward to championing this worthy cause through our Love Show. We all need to eat and it is true…you are what you eat. Let’s help NOFA keep our food systems strong, sustainable, and nourishing.
